Recognizing 19 Years of
Village Government Leadership and Service
Residents of the Village of Lynbrook, Mayor
Brian Curran, members of the Board of
Trustees, Nassau County Legislator Francis
X. Becker, Jr., and members of the Lynbrook
Police and Fire Departments gathered at the
Village Board meeting held December 21 to
honor Deputy Mayor William Hendrick for his
19 years (and counting) of leadership and
service as a member of the Lynbrook Village
Board of Trustees.
"My service as a trustee is a direct result
of my passion for and commitment to the
community, family and friends; my career as
a public servant is the direct result of the
ongoing support and trust of the community,
my family and my friends," said Deputy Mayor
Hendrick. "That has been my source
of inspiration to be a servant leader of the
Village of Lynbrook and its residents and
merchants."
Deputy Mayor Hendrick's 19 years of service
to the community as a trustee is the most in
the history of the Village of Lynbrook. In
addition to serving as a trustee from 1989 -
1993 and 1995- present, Deputy Mayor
Hendrick is a founding member and Chairman
of the Lynbrook Expo Committee; associate
member of Lynbrook Engine Co. No. 1 for 19
years; honorary member of Lynbrook Emergency
Medical Co. No 1; and Past President of the
Lynbrook Republican Club.
Deputy Mayor Hendrick's duties also
include Village Liaison to the following
departments and committees:
Business Improvement District, Emergency
Management Office, Fire Department, Police
Department, Celebrations Chairman and
Southeast Quadrant Liaison.
"We have tremendous respect and admiration
for Deputy Mayor Hendrick's unparalleled
career as a public servant and his wealth of
experience in village government
leadership," said Mayor Curran. "I know the
entire Village joins me in thanking him for
his service and good works."
