As a fitting and lasting tribute to Ex-Fire Department Chief and Former Commissioner Ronald P. Festa, Denton Avenue, between Merrick Road and Peninsula Boulevard, has been officially renamed Festa's Way.  Commissioner Festa was a selfless servant-leader for the residents and community of Lynbrook, serving as a member of the Lynbrook Fire Department for 45 years.  During that time, he served on the Company level as a line officer, at the Department level rising through the ranks of Chief, and also a Commissioner for the Battalion.  The naming ceremony was attended by Chief Festa's family and friends, the officers and members of the Lynbrook Fire Department, and Mayor Brian Curran, Deputy Mayor William Hendrick, Trustees Alan Beach, Hilary Becker and Michael Hawxhurst, Town of Hempstead Councilman Anthony Santino, Assemblyman Robert Barra, and Senator Dean Skelos.
