Brownies 2177 Lead the Pledge of Allegiance at Village Board Meeting

Lynbrook, NY -- Members of the Lynbrook Brownie Troop 2177 led the residents, Mayor Brian Curran and the Board of Trustees in the Pledge of Allegiance at a recent Village Board Meeting.  The honor was in recognition of the Troop's theme and mission for 2009, "Helping the Community."  Co-Leaders Maria Graepel  and Linda Maffei said that the Troop is conducting fundraising through their cookie sale and other projects, learning the importance of helping others.  The money raised by the Troop will be donated to the Village's Community Chest.   The mission of the Village Community Chest is to raise money to help people in the Village of Lynbrook and only Lynbrook that are experiencing hardship. The Community Chest works with the Village's religious organizations and schools to identify Lynbrook Families that need help.  For more information about the Village Community Chest, please call Village Hall at 599-8300.
