Lynbrook Honors 2009 Frank J. Becker Scholarship Winner

Frances Faith Galvez is the recipient of the 2009 Annual Congressman Frank J. Becker Education Foundation Scholarship.
She was presented the scholarship at a ceremony held at Aneglina's Restaurant in Lynbrook.  (L to R) Lynbrook's Deputy Mayor Bill Hendrick, Mayor Brian Curran, and Trustee Hilary H. Becker, grandson of the late concgressman, as well as Mr. Robert G. Becker, the son of the late congressman, 1974 scholarship recipient, Pat Riccioppo, Mile Galvez, the mother of Frances, Ken Jones and Nassau County Legislator Francis X. Becker, Jr., grandson of the late congressman, attended the ceremony.
"The late Congressman Becker was an exceptional leader and legislator who who was recognized for his integrity, ethics, and understanding that his primary responsibility was to serve the will of the people and advance and preserve the freedom and liberty of our nation," said Mayor Curran.  "Considering the rigorous review process to earn the scholarship, I am certain that Ms. Galvez will build on the admirable traits and achievements and carry on the tradition of achievement of the past scholarship winners."
