                  NOTICE OF TAX WARRANT

 

            INCORPORATED VILLAGE OF LYNBROOK

     NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Tax Collector of the Incorporated Village of Lynbrook, New York, has received a warrant for the levy and collection of Real Property Taxes for the fiscal year 2008/2009.

     Property Taxes are payable in two (2) equal installments.

     FIRST HALF taxes become due and payable June 1, 2008.

(Second Half taxes may be paid at the same time).

     SECOND HALF taxes become due and payable December 1, 2008.

     To all first half taxes remaining unpaid after July 1, 2008 and, to all second half taxes remaining unpaid after December 31,2008, five per centum (5%) will be added for the first month and an additional amount as determined by Section 1432 of the Real Property Tax Law for each month, or part of a month, thereafter until paid.

     Taxes assessed on the tax roll may be paid at the Office of the Village Clerk, Village Hall, One Columbus Drive, Lynbrook, New York, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM except Saturday, Sundays & Holidays.

Nassau County Village Officials Association – Solid Waste Committee

 

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

 

FOR

 

MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL SERVICES

ON BEHALF OF THE VILLAGES OF:

 

EAST ROCKAWAY

FREEPORT

GARDEN CITY

LYNBROOK

MALVERNE

ROCKVILLE CENTRE

VALLEY STREAM

 

The Nassau County Village Officials Association – Solid Waste Committee (NCVOA-SWC) is seeking Proposals from private or public sector entities to provide Disposal Services by means of providing one or more Transfer Stations, or a Designated Disposal Facility.  Proposals are due at 99 Church Street in Malverne, New York by 3:00 PM on July 23, 2008.  The successful Proposer(s) shall commence services on August 20, 2009. The Villages generate approximately 100,000 Tons of Trash, Bulk Waste and Street Sweepings per calendar year; however, the NCVOA-SWC does not provide any commitments regarding quantities to be delivered in the future.  Contractors may propose to use the Rockville Centre and the Valley Stream Transfer Stations and to undertake modifications of the Freeport incinerator for use as a Transfer Station as part of their Disposal Services. 

 

Proposals are being solicited for either of the following two (2) Alternates.  In addition, the NCVOA-SWC will accept optional Proposals; however, such Proposals will be considered only if submission is made on one (1) of the two (2) following Options. 

 

Proposal Alternate 1:  Disposal Services Only

 

            Under this Alternate, the Contractor shall provide Disposal Services at its Designated Disposal Facility.  The Contractor shall be responsible for the entire operation and maintenance of the Designated Disposal Facility, including the recovery of Scrap Metals, Tires, and White Goods with Refrigerants from incoming Trash.

 

·        Contractors are required to submit Proposals identifying both Designated Disposal Facility and a Backup Disposal Facility for the disposal of Solid Waste.

 

·        The Contractor shall be responsible to provide Hauling Services to Contractor-provided Backup Disposal Facilities when the Designated Disposal Facility is unavailable due to Contractor Fault or Uncontrollable Circumstances.

 

Proposal Alternate 2:  Transfer, Haul, and Disposal

 

            The Proposers selecting Proposal Alternate 2 shall be responsible for the entire scope of services as follows

·                          The Contractor shall be responsible for the entire operation and maintenance of one (1) or more Transfer Stations provided by the Contractor, including the recovery of Scrap Metals, Tires, and White Goods with Refrigerants from incoming Trash.

 

·                          The Contractor shall be responsible for providing, operating, maintaining, and repairing all Contractor Equipment, including rolling stock and containers necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the Transfer Station.

 

·                          Contractors are required to submit Proposals identifying both a Designated Disposal Facility(s) and Backup Disposal Facilities for the disposal of Trash.

 

·        The Contractor shall be responsible to provide Hauling and Disposal Services to the Contractor-provided Designated Disposal Facility(s) and Backup Disposal Facilities.
 

·        Contractors are required to submit Proposals identifying both the primary Transfer Station(s) and Backup Transfer Station(s).

 

Contractors may submit Proposals containing the provision to move Trash from the Transfer Station to Disposal Facilities by rail or by tractor-trailers.
