PUBLIC NOTICE OF VILLAGE TREASURER'S SALE FOR

TAX LIENS ON REAL ESTATE IN THE

VILLAGE OF LYNBROOK, NEW YORK

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that pursuant to the applicable provisions of the Real Property Tax Law, the Village Law of the State of New York, the Village Code of the Incorporated Village of Lynbrook, and pursuant to a Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lynbrook, Nassau County, New York, adopted at a meeting held on the  22nd day of January, 2018, the Treasurer of said Village will sell pursuant to Village Code §222-27(B) to the Village of Lynbrook, in the manner prescribed by law, on the 22nd day of March 2018 at 10:00 A.M., in the Courtroom of the Village Hall, One Columbus Drive, Lynbrook, New York each of the following parcels of real estate upon which Village taxes remain unpaid as will be sufficient to discharge the taxes, interest and charges thereon which may be due at the time of the sale.

Such interest in real estate will be sold subject to any unpaid assessment thereon levied by said Village and any unpaid lien purchased and held by said Village, and all liens on property included in this sale are sold subject to the provisions of any federal or state law.

LEGAL NOTICE

 

 

            NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Lynbrook will hold a Public Hearing to consider the amendment of Village Code Chapter 222 (Taxation) with respect to Article VIII (Authority for Tax Levy Limit Override) to provide that the 18/19 real property taxation may exceed the tax levy limit set forth in General Municipal Law §3-c; and under SEQRA Regulations, to determine whether the proposed code amendment would constitute a significant negative impact on the environment; said Public Hearing will be held at 7PM on April 16, 2018 at the Village Hall, One Columbus Drive, Lynbrook, New York.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS

 

2018 ROAD IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM

IN THE INC. VILLAGE OF LYNBROOK

 

SEALED BIDS FOR 2018 ROAD IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM” will be received by the Board of Trustees at the Village office, One Columbus Drive, Lynbrook, New York 11563 until 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at which time all bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud.

 

The Information for Bidders, Form of Bid, Form of Contract, Plans and Specifications may be obtained at the office of the Village Clerk, One Columbus Drive, Lynbrook, NY, 11563 from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, beginning February 8, 2018. Documents will be available to bidders for a non-refundable purchase price of $50.00 for each set. Non-refundable checks for sets of printed documents are to be made payable to the VILLAGE OF LYNBROOK.

 

Each bidder must deposit with his bid a bid bond or certified check of not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid or bid bond with a Bonding Company licensed to do business in the State of New York, in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders.

 

A pre-bid meeting and walk thru is scheduled for 10:00 AM on February 15, 2018.  Potential bidders are asked to gather at Village Hall, One Columbus Drive, Lynbrook, New York 11563, at which time they shall be escorted to the area of work. This meeting is not mandatory; however, it is highly recommended that all potential bidders attend.

 

The Board of Trustees reserves the right to wave any informality in, or to reject any or all bids, and to accept the bids which they deem most favorable to the interest of the Village. Attention of Bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract.

 

The Village will not accept bids from, nor award a Contract to anyone, who cannot prove to the satisfaction of the Board of Trustees of the Village that he or she has had sufficient experience in this type of work and is financially able and organized to successfully carry out the work covered by the Specifications in the required time.

 

Bid shall be addressed to the Board of Trustees, shall be received at the OFFICE OF THE VILLAGE CLERK and marked “2018 ROAD IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM

ELECTION NOTICE

INC. VILLAGE OF LYNBROOK

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Board of Trustees of the Inc. Village of Lynbrook adopted the following resolution at the Board Meeting of January 22, 2018 for the March 20,2018 Election pursuant to the provisions of Article 15 of the New York State Election Law:

 

RESOLVED, that there will not be a Village Voter Registration day and that the names of eligible voters are to appear on the Voter Registration list of the Nassau County Board of Elections;

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees must specify the boundaries of each election district; and

         

RESOLVED, that the Village of Lynbrook shall be one (1) Election District for the Village Election and hereby resolves that the POLLING PLACE for the designated Village Election District be as follows:

    

     E.D. 1         Lynbrook Recreation Center, Greis Park,

                         Wilbur Street, Lynbrook

 

RESOLVED, that the Polling Place be OPENED at 7:00 A.M. and CLOSED at 9:00 P.M.;

 

RESOLVED, that the Election Inspectors be appointed from the list to be furnished by the Nassau County Board of Elections; that compensation for such Inspectors shall be at the rate of $150.00 per diem for Election Day and the rate for such inspector designated as a Chairperson for Election Day shall be $175.00 per diem;

 

RESOLVED, that the Village Clerk shall cause proper notice of the foregoing resolution to be published and posted as required by law.
